Derrick White Signs Contract Extension with Boston Celtics

Report: Deal Worth More Than $125 Million

Key Contributor in NBA Championship Season

Derrick White, the Boston Celtics versatile point guard, has reportedly agreed to a four-year, $125.9 million contract extension with the team. The deal comes after the Celtics' NBA championship victory last season, in which White played a key role.

White, 30, was acquired by the Celtics in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs in February 2022. Since then, he has become a valuable contributor to the team, averaging 16 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game during the regular season.

In the playoffs, White's contributions were even more significant. He averaged 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, helping the Celtics reach the NBA Finals. In the championship series against the Golden State Warriors, White scored 21 points in the deciding Game 6 victory.

With White signed to a long-term deal, the Celtics now have a solid foundation of young talent to build around. The team is expected to contend for another NBA title in the upcoming season.
