Upcoming Disney+ Series Explores High Republic Era

Lucasfilm has announced the official release date for its highly anticipated Star Wars series, The Acolyte. The first two episodes of the live-action show will premiere on Disney+ on Tuesday, June 4th.

The Acolyte is set during the High Republic era, a period of prosperity and peace in Star Wars history. However, as the series progresses, a sinister threat emerges, forcing the investigation of a shocking crime spree.

The series stars Amandla Stenberg as a newly recruited Jedi Padawan, alongside Dafne Keen as a former Padawan who has left the Jedi Order. Jodie Turner-Smith and Joeonas Suotamo also appear in undisclosed roles.

The Acolyte is the first Star Wars live-action series to premiere on a Tuesday, breaking with the traditional Wednesday release schedule. Additionally, the series will have eight episodes in its first season.
