PSG Stumbles at Home: Bayern Munich Secures Crucial First-Leg Advantage

Bayern Dominates Second Half, Coman Seals Victory

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) suffered a setback in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg, losing 1-0 at home to reigning champions Bayern Munich.

The match started with PSG controlling possession in the opening minutes. However, Bayern gradually asserted their dominance, creating several chances throughout the first half. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made several crucial saves to keep the game level at the break.

The second half was a different story. Bayern came out with renewed intensity and controlled the tempo of the game. In the 59th minute, Kingsley Coman broke the deadlock, heading in a cross from Alphonso Davies. The goal sparked a flurry of Bayern attacks, but PSG held on desperately to minimize the damage.

PSG had a late chance to equalize, but Lionel Messi's free-kick was saved by Bayern goalkeeper Yann Sommer. The Parisians searched for a late equalizer but were unable to find a breakthrough, handing Bayern a significant advantage ahead of the second leg.

The result leaves PSG in a difficult position. They will need to travel to Munich for the second leg and score at least two goals to advance. Bayern, on the other hand, will be confident of defending their lead and securing a place in the quarterfinals.

The second leg will take place on March 8 at Allianz Arena in Munich.
